Oakland Community Council was created in 1995 to assist residents in participating in the University of Pittsburgh’s Master Plan process. Since its inception, Oakland Community Council has represented the needs of residents to the City and the institutions. More and more the City Planning department has directed developers to sit down with the Oakland Community Council to discuss their plans before proceeding with construction. Oakland Community Council’s goal is to improve the over all quality of life in Oakland.
